Depression Treatment
Have you ever been to a depression/self harm treatment center? Which center? How would you rate the treatment?
I’m planning on donating to depression/anxiety/BDP/cutting/suicide recovery treatment centers.
Please answer if you’ve been to one!
I was at Frye South Campus which is a suicide/self harm treatment center. From a scale of 1-10 I would give them a 3. In many treatment centers the staff is informed to not become attached or try to identify with the patient because, supposedly this could case the patient to become too dependent on the staff for emotional support. This policy only left me feeling like an outsider or a freak. The staff in general is just horrible everything you do is questioned if you want a drink of water they ask why. If you want to watch something on T.V. they ask you why you would want to watch that….it’s very annoying. I actually came out worse than I went in because, the whole experience made me extremely paranoid. If you wish to help I would not donate to any such centers the best thing to do is to volunteer for a suicide hot-line that way you will actually be helping people instead of just helping to support ill mannered workers who could care less about their patients.
